Everything you need to know about Sugma Modded Server

Server Connection

Server Address:

Quick Setup

Download the installer for your operating system from the homepage:

  • Windows: Sugma Modded Installer (GUI application with auto-sync)
  • macOS: Sugma Modded Installer (GUI application with auto-sync)

The installer will automatically:

  1. Install Java 21+ if needed
  2. Install Fabric Loader 0.18.4
  3. Download and install all required mods
  4. Sync client configurations and keybinds
  5. Create a launcher profile for easy access

macOS Notes:

  • Some GPU-intensive mods (Distant Horizons, Bobby) are automatically skipped due to macOS OpenGL limitations
  • If macOS blocks the app: right-click the app > Open, or run xattr -cr /Applications/Sugma\ Modded\ Installer.app

Updating Your Installation

Already installed? Simply run the installer again. It will automatically:

  • Detect new or updated mods and download them
  • Remove obsolete mods that are no longer on the server
  • Update Fabric loader if needed

The installer uses smart syncing to only download what's changed, making updates fast.

Uninstalling

To remove Sugma Modded:

  1. Manually delete the .minecraft/mods folder
  2. Delete the Sugma Modded 1.21.1 profile from your launcher

Your worlds, screenshots, and other Minecraft data are never deleted.

Adds dedicated Elytra slot via Trinkets

  • Wear Elytra + Chestplate at the same time

These keybinds are pre-configured by the installer to resolve 200+ mod conflicts. You can change them in Options > Controls.

Tips for New Players

Getting Started

  • Download the installer from the homepage (Windows or macOS)
  • Launch Minecraft 1.21.1 with the Sugma Modded profile
  • Add server: modded-minecraft.jarobinson.org

Storage Setup

  • Craft a Tom's Storage Terminal early (look up recipe in EMI with R key)
  • Connect chests within 12 blocks for auto-inventory
  • Craft Traveler's Backpack for mobile storage

Combat Tips

  • Left-click spam is ineffective - use Better Combat's combo system
  • Heavy attacks (right-click) break shields
  • Explore dungeons for unique loot and weapons

Navigation

  • Set waypoints at important locations immediately
  • Activate Waystones you find for fast travel network
  • Use world map (M key) to plan exploration routes

Troubleshooting

Game won't launch
  • Ensure you have Java 21 or higher installed
  • Check that Fabric Loader 0.18.4 is installed for Minecraft 1.21.1
  • Verify all required mods are in the mods folder
  • Try removing .minecraft/config folder and relaunch
Can't connect to server
  • Double-check server address: modded-minecraft.jarobinson.org
  • Ensure you're using Minecraft 1.21.1 with Fabric
  • Verify all mods are installed (server will reject mismatched clients)
Low FPS / Performance issues

Allocate more RAM to Minecraft (recommended: 4-6GB):

  • Edit Fabric profile in launcher
  • Add JVM argument: -Xmx4G or -Xmx6G

Also try lowering render distance. The modpack includes Sodium, Lithium, and FerriteCore for optimization.

Mod conflicts or crashes
  • Check crash log in .minecraft/crash-reports/
  • Ensure all mods are compatible versions for 1.21.1
  • Try removing recently added resource packs
  • Ask server admin for support
Keybind conflicts
  • Go to Options > Controls > Key Binds
  • Search for conflicting keys
  • Rebind as needed (EMI and Minimap have many binds)
